Candidates eligible to immigrate to Canada under a federal economic immigration program may enter the Express Entry pool. Consequently, the first step to be taken should be to determine your eligibility for one of these programs. If your review shows that you are not eligible, you can become eligible by working on your core human capital factors by improving your skills, work experience, language ability and education credentials. Eligibility in one of the federal economic immigration programs necessary for immigrating to Canada through Express Entry
Candidates who are eligible for one of the federal economic immigration programs for permanent residence in Canada express interest in immigrating to Canada by creating an online profile. They provide information about their abilities, work experience, ability to speak language, education, and other personal information.
Eligible candidates are then ranked according to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and placed in a pool of candidates. They also have the option of registering with Canada’s job bank which, as of June 6 2017, is not required, but registration in the job bank heightens a candidate’s chances by making them more visible to Canadian employers.
Candidates are ranked for immigration to Canada using the Comprehensive Ranking system (CRS) based on the following factors:
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) offers a total of 1,200 points for candidates.Candidates are selected by the Government of Canada through their ranking. Thus, it is up to the candidate to improve their chances of receiving an Invitation to apply for permanent residence by striving to improve their ranking in the Express Entry pool.
New immigrants can be picked from the Express Entry pool by the government of Canada, provincial governments and Canadian employers.
Invitations to Apply for permanent residence are then issued to the highest ranking candidates and those with valid job offers and provincial nominations. An electronic application for permanent residence must then be submitted within 90 days. These applications are processed by the IRCC within 6 months.
All the necessary forms and all the supporting documents must be completed and submitted within this time. Successful candidates will be accepted as permanent residents of Canada upon completion of this process.
If a candidate does not receive an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada after a period of 12 months, they may resubmit their profile and re-enter the pool providing that they meet the criteria of at least one of the economic immigration programs
